By postcrossing I am fulfilling my biggest dream in a less expensive way. I hope one day I can really travel around the globe (and even other planets! ……Sorry, die-hard sci-fi fanatic) and send home postcards all around.

- Introduction
Postcrossing is a postcards exchange project. After registery, you request 1 address from the site and send postcards (real ones) through postal service to people all over the world, with ID number on it (given by the site when you request an address). People receive the card and register it with the serial number, then your address will be issued to the next postcrosser who requests an address. So basicly it’s random sending and receiving. The greatest fun lies in the surprise. You can read more about it here.
Postcrossing also have a forum. People do private exchange of postcards too (without surprise). Many users have an album of their received collection and also their postcards for trade.Sounds like fun? Why not join us?
- The Discovery of Postcrossing.com
Some time a go I was searching for some photos on Yupoo and I found this guy Micah Sittig from California but now lives in Shanghai with his Chinese wife. At then, his site was very interesting to me. (Kind of like Facebook with all kinds of lifestreaming built in. All gone now). On his site, I found a link of Shanghaiist.com, a site for people from all over the world who work and live in Shanghai. From then on, Shanghaiist is like a must-read blog to me. Then one day, I read this very interesting interview of a Portuguese guy Paulo, who now also lives in Shanghai and is the founder of Postcrossing.com. So the door was opened. Then I searched on my most-frequent-visited site douban.com, and not surprisingly found a Postcrossing group (in Chinese, of course. Douban is like where you can find everything and its enthusiasts: books, movies, music… anything. ) So with the help of postcrossers in China, I started postcards exchanging. The next day after I joined, some of the Shanghai postcrossers held a gathering (also buying cards & stamps, fill them up and send them) and invited Paulo & his “one” Ana (Ana is currently the top 2 in cards send from China). I wish I could join them.
It’s not gone, just hidden ;)
