About the site name:

知 (zhī) means to know/be aware, 悟 (wù) means to comprehend/reflection, digestion, 园 (yuán) means garden/land. So 知悟园 means a a place where I collect my thoughts of learning and reflections on anything. I try to be as open as possible in everything about me and my life. (except for occasional giving in to censorship)

Also 知悟园 is a homophone (same pronunciation but different word) to 植物园(botanic garden).

About my name: Of course Lucy is not in Chinese. That’s just a name I picked out of a dictionary name list when I started to learn English, because it sounds like my full Chinese name and has a pretty transliteration “露西”. People have been calling me “Lucy” for more than 10 years, while some around me still keeps changing their English names. I mean, IT’S JUST A NAME!

Now, this makes my full English name “Lucy Liu”. And yes I know “Just like the actress Lucy Liu” – I get that a lot - almost every day. This New Yorker‘s Chinese name is 刘玉玲(劉玉玲) . I also happen to like her movies.

Google is my GOD, and I’m also a fan of Apple Inc. / 豆瓣 / John Mayer / Julianne Moore / Fernando Torres.

知悟园，一是取insight之“知、悟”意，二是“植物园”谐音，因为本人不喜欢动物（一半是不喜欢一半是觉得人太残忍太造孽），酷爱园艺和植物，渴望有个物产丰富的大院子甚至植物园，除了白兰花树外，里面一定要有槐树、合欢、凤凰木或其他豆科树木。自小爱看书（近几年已荒废许多），自从电脑出现在我的视野中后就已欲罢不能。由于书和电脑均是心灵窗口之大杀伤性武器，故已高度近视。网络乃本人收集爱好资料，了解外界之最佳途径。生于长于四川绵阳，在上海读完大学后工作。热爱旅行，世界地图、人文风情精通烂熟却没钱周游。生活的一半：音乐，欧美电影〔电影阅历〕，因此深受欧美文化影响。当然还喜欢上网。狂热福尔摩斯以及推力迷；极客[geek，科技以及挨踢（IT）粉丝]。学过一年半德语，很喜欢德国风格的工业建筑设计，一直以来很像德国人的刻板和严谨（虽然也强烈地受到随性的美国文化影响）。天生的melancholic忧郁者，由于喜爱科幻，加之崇拜《时间简史》，宇宙观在意念中特别强烈，思考问题有着所谓哲学性。具有诗人的爱美、浪漫主义（喜欢老乡东坡和太白）但不具备诗人的才华。严重双重性格，金牛座绝对理性的现实主义，但又是浪漫主义、完美主义者——奇怪的是不喜欢看太离谱的fantasy（比如指环王和哈利波特），乃一狂热科幻迷（迷儒勒·凡尔纳、阿西莫夫、刘慈欣）。讨厌言情小说、大部分中国电影和连续剧（包括香港台湾）。欣赏实力派演员和音乐人，也爱帅锅米女。

讨厌：hypocrites；随地吐痰者；扬尘或沙暴天；污浊的空气；吸烟者及任何有烟味之地。
